The best time to go to the Maldives is between June to November with an ideal stay for a minimum 5 days. With less travelers on the shorelines, you could have the whole island to yourself, while spending significantly less cash than amid the high season. Apart from lazing about on its sun-kissed beaches, going on sunset cruise, tasting fresh delicious sea food, the Maldives offers numerous water sports – from surfing to deep-sea diving which most of the resorts offer.
Home to probably the most dazzling jump locales on the planet, the Maldives are a hurricane of vivid coral reefs and energizing submerged life Whether you are a first-time snorkeler wanting to catch sight of the friendly turtles that surround the islands or a diving pro wanting to get up close and personal with majestic whale sharks, this diving haven offers up warm waters and heart-stopping sights to make your escape truly memorable !!!

MOUNT KAILASH & MANASAROVAR
POSTED ON : 04 JUL
It`s always been the most fulfilling religious trip to many to see the Abode of Lord Shiva, but for me it was more of an learning and adventure trip than being a religious one……..and so i thought. Never knew that was going to change for good. Why the trip was so Memorable ? Was it the People, the Rough terrain or the cold winds, the lack of oxygen in the atmosphere, the unearthly hours of travel, the frozen waters of Lake Manasarovar or the majestic Mount Kailash ? Think it`s a perfect mixture of all which made my trip a LIFE TIME Experience to cherish. The mental satisfaction, the feeling of proximity to the almighty and the sense of achievement that I experienced are beyond words. As I have read, Mount Kailash is pretty high about 6,740 m is situated to the north of the Himalayan barrier, wholly within Tibet. It is the perfect mountain with awesome beauty, with 4 great faces. It is the spiritual centre for four great religions: Tibetan Buddhism, Hinduism, Jainism and the pre-Buddhist animistic religion – Bonpo and being a stanch believer of Hinduism there was a instant connection. The whole trip was well planned with domestic flights from Chennai to Lucknow and back, fixed wing aircrafts for the flight from Kathmandu to Nepalganj and from there to Simikot. From Simikot a helicopter to Hilsa then Landcruisers where used to reach Manasarovar Lake via Lhasa. Manasarovar where in along the way we were amazed by the lunar beauty of the Tibetan landscape, the luminosity of the air and the realization that this is one of the most barren and desolate regions of the world and there we had a first glimpse of Holy Mt.Kailash from Manasarovar Lake ….. What a Magnificent view it was – still the memories are vivid and brings back Joy and sense of being Blessed……Om Namah Shivaya !!!
The entire place was serene, captivating and peaceful around making it the great spot to meditate and be at peace with your oneself. I mediated, drank the water and took a holy dip of the lake, while my group members performed pooja and filled bottles with holy water to carry it back home. Later that day, we stayed back at Mud houses in Manasarovar itself with temperature falling to around 6 degrees with bare minimum lodging facilities. The night stay here was particularly tough due to the sudden change of altitude and body fatigue; it caused mild breathlessness, nausea, lack of appetite and headache. Acclimatization was the most important THING during this trip. It`s a must to keep your feet dry and ears covered at all times to avoid any kind of health issues on tour.
On the final day, Our group did Puja /homam outside our mud house and took a 45 minutes drive to reach Yama Dwar where stands the Gigantic, tall and captivating – Mount Kailash in Solitary Splendor in this remote trans-Himalayan region of western Tibet. We had a magnificent view of North Face of Mount Kailash with Sun shining on it. I entered Yama Dwar and did Prostration. Thanked GOD, parents and people responsible for me to take this Holy trip which I truly consider to be a great Blessing. Next 6 hours I shared, spoke and listened to a lot of unbelievable experiences from my group members on our way back to Chennai. One thing is certain, this trip has upped my “spiritual quotient” and have given me a new perspective of what Life has to offer….In GOD i believe !!!

POSTED ON : 05 JUL
Chettinad is a wonderful small town which has the remnants of its glorious past. It comprises mainly a town known as Karaikudi and a cluster of 96 surrounding villages. The town has perhaps, the most elaborate and rich culture and some truly fascinating traditions. The place is very much in India, but it dances to its own tunes.
It belongs to the Sivaganga district of south Tamil Nadu and is home to the extremely wealthy and prosperous mercantile community of the Nattukottai Chettiars also known as the Nagarathars. The Chettiars who are the residents of Chettinad are considered to be the pioneers of banking. The well travelled Chettiars had the wherewithal to import construction material and furnishings from East Asia, marble from Italy, chandeliers and teakwood from Burma, tableware from Indonesia, crystal chandeliers from Europe and immense mirrors from Belgium. Their homes’ wood and stonework were inspired by the great mansions of Europe, particularly those of France and their homes are extremely impressive, in an unusual combination of South Indian and Western styles. Traditional 18th century Chettinad mansions reflect both bygone and current prosperity, with wide, tiled courtyards and spacious, teak and marble decorated rooms. There are temples, palaces, museums, amazing food and everything else you will wish for in a vacation.
